GLEN HARRIS

In the early 1990s, Glen got his start in radio at KXLE, an AM/FM combo station in Ellensburg, Washington, where he rose through the ranks, from part-time voice-over talent and board operator to News Director and Program Director for KXLE-AM.
Glen joined the staff at KWLE in 1997, the day after his marriage. Since then, he has taken on a number of duties at the station – news, commercial production, and programming. An avid computer user since the early days of home computers, he’s also the station’s token “computer geek”.
In 2003, The International Broadcasters Idea Bank, an international group of radio station and radio industry professionals, awarded Glen the IBBE Award “in recognition of outstanding service and dedication to the radio industry, the community, and fellow citizens”. He was one of four individuals that voiced the short-lived audio version of BusinessWeek Magazine, which had world-wide distribution.
Glen has also been a professional musician for nearly 20 years, playing bass in symphony orchestras, jazz combos, big bands, and rock, blues, country, and funk groups. Among the published works he is credited with writing is a country song called, “You Drive Me To Drink (And I’ll Pay For Gas)”.
Glen and his wife, Tracy, live in Anacortes with two dogs (Ranma and Baron) and a cat (Beelzebub). Outside of work, he enjoys blogging (4 blogs), listening to audiobooks, reading up to 4 books at a time, and cooking.
